Promotion opportunities with No Kings protests?

By , February 14, 2026

I spent the “later middle” part of my careers working on marketing, so I guess it’s not surprising that this idea came to me, as I consider my participation* in the local “No Kings 3” protest on March 28, 2026.

If you’re engaged in any enterprise that seeks more exposure in your local community, might you gain some publicity/awareness benefits from engaging directly with your local “No Kings” protests?

The “No Kings 3” protests across the USA are expected to be “a raucous, joyful and non-violent but powerful display of what America’s all about.” In Springfield, Missouri, at least 10,000 participants are expected.

Assumptions: your business is not “MAGA” and does not rely on the MAGA cult for your survival; you care about democracy and the US constitution.

My first thought was, our local “Friends of the Library” group should make sure to have signage in or near the protest area, for its April Book Sale. And some folks could hand out free bookmarks promoting that event.

But then I realized that any community group and many local businesses might benefit, by being present in some way. Of course, as with any community event, there are a variety of ways to “be present.”

This is not an opportunity for blatant self-promotion.

It is an opportunity to show your community that you understand some of their needs and interests.
